I'm specifying a system for my mate, Scooby15mpg, and that system includes a Lumagen video processor. Unfortunately the Pioneer DV989 is above budget but would otherwise be ideal due to 576i and 480i output over HDMI.
So, we need a player with excellent interlaced output over component with good quality sound as well. No DVI or HDMI is needed.
I'd be very grateful for suggestions. Around £400 please.

    Cheers,

    Damo

Sell the Subaru STi and Buy a WRX and get 30+mpg, with the money saved :

    Buy either a Pioneer 989 or A Denon 3910

The STi with the PPP really drinks fuel (Yes got one), but 15mpg is really caning the poor Samuri!

    It's the WRX he's got mate :)
Like I mentioned, I reckon both those models are above the budget. I think really strong interlaced component out is the way to go, considering the Lumagen will be in the chain and we'll be pixel mapping to a PHD8 via VGA (unles a 42MXE10 can be found and does the job).
