Am I right in thinking I can use any discs with a Sony HX510 as long as the speed is up to 8x? What I mean is, is there a difference between disc compatibility with DVD recorders and PC drives?

I seem to recall my old Pioneer PDR-709 CD recorder would only accept 'consumer' discs and refused to write to certain PC CD-RW discs.

Is it the same case with DVD recorders?

I've just bought a box of 10 Sony DVD-R discs from Ebuyer and wonder if they'll work when I get the HX510?

I have been using Sony -R discs since I got the machine a week ago and they work perfectly. I think it would be strange if Sony discs didnt work in Sony Machines.

I havent used any TY or Verbatum discs yet that you buy online but Sony discs are one of the top ones I have fond and picture is crystal up to 2.5 hours.
