My burner is a Panasonic (OEM) SW-9571 A112 which, I am fairly sure, writes at x2. I've searched for a firmware upgrade, with no success.

The last DVD-R's I bought were Datasafe Media x2 (from SVP) which were 100% successful but I can't seem to find these now. Question is, can I use x4 discs or will these fail with a x2 burner?

I have used 4x media in my laptop, without problems, which is only supposed to be a max of 2x,they may work,it's probably a case of try it and see.
I think that maybe sometimes the disc manufactuers are playing it safe just in case they dont work.
