I am going to order a new 2 rca -> din cable for my Naim amplifier but I am not sure which connector will fit.

The cable that came along with the amplifier was a 4 pin -> 4 pin dincable. It seems hard to find a 4 pin din connection and I think it will work with a 5 pin din connector. There found out that there are two kinds of 5 pin connector, one with "180 degrees" and one with "240 degrees" Which one of these connectors will fit my Naim Nap 140?

    Archos,

The input on the 140 is designed to be connected to a pre-amp, and uses what is called a SNAIC cable. What exactly were you intending to connect to it that uses 2 phonos?

If it's a non-Naim pre-amp it may be possible, but I suspect that you're then looking for specialist advice, not a pre-made cable.

Usually you'd connect the peripheral (CD player or whatever) into a pre-amp, then pre-amp to 140.

5PIN 240 is the connection from a Naim power supply to a pre-amp.

You need a 4PIN din to 2 rca lead. The Chord company can make you one. A Naim dealer would be able to get you the correct 4PIN DIN plug if you are going to make yourself a LEAD. I did this often when I worked in retail.

I´m going to use a Marantz reciever as a pre-amplifier.

Actually I´ve already ordered a cable from a guy which is now on its way to me. He put a 5 pin 180 connector on the cable. He said I could send it back to switch the connector if it didn´t fit. Will it fit or will I have send it back and wait two more weeks for my cable?

I wich he had contacted me before sending the cable..

Mybe I can just clip the fith pin?

180 connector is for inputs on the NAIM preamps from their sources. It's the wrong amount of pins and the wrong layout of pins. No use at all.

Just to re-emphasise Gordon's earlier point, try contacting the Chord company, they specialise in cables for Naim amps; they'll probably be able to help.
