    Hi guys

i was wondering what digibox would be the best for my needs

i am installin a projector and have got an s-video cable installed into the walls and ceiling. i am hopin to use this connection for sky as i have component leads for the dvd player.

can someone let me know which box will cover my needs. i was told if i get the grundig box as part of the install would be ok.

your thoughts please, or do i have to upgrade and what would the costs be?

    thanx in advance

The Grundig GDS3000 has S-Video Out. Not much of a chance of getting this box from Sky on Installation.

Nearly bought one on E-Bay for around £130. Take a look.

Ended up with the Sony-760U with Optical out.

Suppose I'll buy a convertor or a scart(RGB) to S-Video cable. Not sure which is best? Anyone?????

"scart(RGB) to S-Video cable" ???? Cannot be wired so doesn't exist, AFAIK. You need a convertor.

You can get composite to S convertors for under a tenner, BTW.

Better still, get an 'RGB to S-Video' Converter from www.rgbtosvideo.co.uk

Cost a bit more than a tenner though!

I use one from my NTL STB to record onto SVHS, and they are worth every penny, excellent quality over SCART composite to SVHS.

Ive got a Panasonic box with RCG and it pumps SVideo out to the TV just fine.
I would STRONGLY recommend using a PC or Scaler and feeding progressive to the projector rather than SVideo though.
I use a DTTV box into a PC (£35 Hauppage card and DScaler) and the results are excellent on a 1.8m wide 16x9 screen
