I'm looking for an ok player that can play DVD-R's, thinking about the Toshiba 220.
    Anybody tried it with DVD-R?

Also be aware that is depends on the brand and quality of the DVD-r disc.

Some disc's play fine in most players but some wont. Most dvd(-/+)r sellers have packs available of 4 or 5 different brands so people can test and see what works best for them.

    Cheers

I have the Tosh 220 and so far its played everything I've thrown at it, even a couple of DVD-R's that I haven't been able to play in several other players that I've tested.

Its played all the MP3's, CDR's, VCD's, SVCD's using loads of different brands and the several DVD-R brands that I've tried :D

Pioneer say they play -R/-RW. I play +R/+RW on my Pioneer 545.
