Most of their equipment is made in China, however, allowing them to offer such excellent value for money.

The UK distributor changed to B&W last year.

I believe that the guy who owns B+Wl also owns Rotel now.......or at least also owns the North American and UK distribution.

That's funny, users on a German forum swear it's a British company. One claimed to have called B&W and they supposingly told him so.

So is B&W a British company or also owned by Japanese?

Yeah I thought they were British too. But on the other hand the excellent value for money factor could make them come from china or Japan too. Does anyone know? (Good question)

I understand Rotel were a UK based company - though not sure where they are based nowadays, and their units are assembled in China (as lovegroova has indicated). :)

B&W are based in Worthing on the south coast the R&D is in Steyning a small village just north of Worthing, the speakers are manufactured in the UK. The owner is Canadian, but they are a very British brand. As far as I am aware the Rotel kit has been under the control of B&W at least partially for over 5 years(i do not think they are purely distriboturs), not sure where R&D is done, for information B&W also control Classe amplifiers out of Canada.

This info is from memory and may not be 100% put is pretty accurate.

I don't remember which but when they were distributed by the same company as JBL the Rep either said they were American or they were made to sound American (To AMerican Taste, something about high something and driving hard...) It was a while back.

Yes, but they kept all the people who did Mac last few years.
Mac is so specifical and different to the others, let's hope they will not change it too much in the future!
