Which component cable

Hi,
I've just bought a Hitachi 500E with a video board. I need to decide how to connect My Denon 2900 to it with the best connection. Should I use a component - component cable or component - HD15 (VGA) cable.
Or will the picture be just as good using either.
Has anyone done any tests?

Thanks

Hi Briggsy, I have been using mine with my Sony 725 with Component to Component and the picture was excellent, this week I purchase a cheap samsung HD935 hidef DVD player and am now using the DVI to DVI connections and the picture is sharper and cleaner, do you have DVI/HDMI on the Denon? I am not familiar with that player.

I do not think you will gain anything from the HD15 input as that to is analogue as is the Component input.

I was also absolutely delighted with the PQ from Sky+ using the Scart input RGB, far better than I been lead to believe I would get.

Best regards David

Hi,
The 2900 doesn't have a DVI but I've heard that the when using it with prog scan with this player the picture is not far off it. I've only seen Hd on plasma and the 2900 using a projector. I am awaiting delivery of my kit but I've still to order my cables.
Thought I would see what peoples thoughts were first.
I think using the phono lead will is the best bet.

Thanks
Briggsy
