I am looking into these final four:

basically it's stereofirst vs HTfirst receivers:

    Stereofirst :

    NAD T763
    ARCAM DIVA AVR200

    HTfirst :

    DENON 3805
    Pioneer AX5

    I am a 80% HT and 20% Music person.
Till now I always had a HTfirst amp...a yamaha and a Sony.

Now I am getting itchy to try some new amp. Better quality than my current 940 QS.
And as a first i'd like to try a musicfrst amp.
Within my budget are these amps that's renown ofr the musicality..the NAD and the ARCAM.

Downside IMO compared to the HTfirst amps is the lack of auto setup and maybe lack of power of power and punch.
And I am afraid that buying a musicfirst amp would torpedo my ultimate requirement of creating a hometheatre experience at home.

Anyway right now...i hopeyou could help me and advice me which amp would be a good combination sonically with my KEF Q50,Q10 and ref100 speakers.

I bought a 3805 on Friday. I sat and stared at it for 24 hours wondering if my choice was a good one because in all honesty I was not unhappy with the performance of my Sony STR-DB930 for film and my reservations on the music side I considered acceptable for a multi-channel amp. I am now so happy I made the choice, primarily because it took a long time for me to get the best out of my Sony, months in fact. In 2 hours of installing and setting up, the Denon eclipsed it totally. I actually think Denon is a balanced choice, excellent musical and DD/DTS performance.

I thought the Pioneer wasd better than the Denon myself.

Tuff to make a decision for me..
Now Arcam has risen to the top..with Pio and NAD just below

Personally I would prefer the Denon. IMO better with music than the Pioneer and not as bright with movies. Have you demoed any of them yet ?

    What about the Arcam 250
    http://www.arcam.co.uk/cinema.cfm
I have heard the 250 and found it superb and a lot of people rate it over its bigger brother the 300:eek: :D
Also why have you not listed the Yamaha 2500? Now much better in stereo then the yamaha's of old.

Teh only real answer is to shoret list a few (like you have) and then try and arrange a demo of as many as possible.
