im looking for a car camera for my dad but i have no idea what to look for, i need to be able to take the footage from the camera onto my laptop if needed.

i am also unsure as to what is best required like a motion detector or a live camera from when the car starts/stops.

card type size im not sure about either, and how to transfer from camera to laptop so i would need some clear advice on that.

i don't think audio is needed unless someone explains why it is.

i think most cameras stick onto a windscreen so it must be one that will stick but also be able to be removed as it won't be left in the car when nobody is in it.

it needs to be a simple device, not too dear but i can pay the extra if needed as i want a good camera.

i have looked at different types but reviews put me off most of them but i need to buy one so i'll have to decide no matter what.

it will also need to be one that plugs into the lighter socket as battery ones won't be good enough.

any advice you can give on either the cameras in general or a specific one would be great as i really have no clue about these cameras.

    thanks.

    thanks, a couple of questions,

does this plug into the lighter socket or is it just batteries, if batteries is there some sort of meter to show when they are running out and is it rechargable if using batteries.

how do you get footage if needed from the device onto a laptop for example?

how do you rate it, any problems?

    Hi
Pretty sure I saw a review of the Transcend XX in Auto-Express magazine, on-line, who rated it highly 2014 award winner I think.
