People have suggested that this forum is turning into the "Canon 350D Owners Club". So I thought it would be interesting to see what cameras everyone owns by means of a poll. It is a public poll so everyone will be able to see your answer.

EDIT: If you have more than one cam you can vote for more than one option...

    Ixus 500 and Panasonic FZ3.
By the way it was me who mentioned all the 350D owners, it wasn't meant as a criticism :) It must mean that the 350D is one hell of a camera.

Or it means that people visiting this forum are persuaded to buy one by existing owners?

None taken ;) It started wondering how many 350D owners there are on the forums as there seem to be a hell of a lot of threads about the cam.

D300, can't see need to upgrade at present, but it will be another Canon. I accidentaly "threw" my D300 onto the steel deck of a ship and it bent the flash hot shoe. Camera continued to work but the flash didn't work until I'd done a setting reset. That was 12 months ago and it's continued to work fine ever since. I've rebent the hot shoe and can use an external flash again.

When it was initially brought out one of the "complaints" was flimsy construction?

My 2.5 year old "accidently-threw" my 350D onto our hard-stone, kitchen floor (he grabbed the strap hanging over the edge of a worktop)
    Everything's fine!

You're right, it is - although I didn't look at anything else, as I had a lens and a flash from an old Canon 35mm film camera - it made sense (to me at least) to stick with Canon.
I did pick it up and handle it before parting with the hard earned though as I'd read that it could feel small/uncomfortable :lesson:
    - I have large hands and it feels good to me.....

    For what it's worth I have a:

SONY DSC-P73 with a Tele-Conversion lens, Wide-Angle lens and a Neutral Density filter kit. Looking to add a few more filters in the coming months. For a 'compact' it takes surprisingly sharp pictures. I can't justify spending $1500 + tax on a Canon EOS-20D or similar. The cheapest SLR over here is the Nikon D50 @ $900 + tax (15%). I think I'll wait.

Camera's don't seem very cheap in Toronto. That D50 converts to £445 excluding 15% tax

might want to check that flash will even work, canons compatibility isnt the greatest

Also about being greedy.... i guess, i just cant help myself to a great deal! but you should see the list of lenses and other bits and bobs!
as far as prices i got some good deals
Nikon F5 (used) £300 almost mint, some enamel has worn off but it still looks fresh
    F75, mint.... £10
    Fe2, mint... gorgeous camera £100 with 2 lenses (50mm 1.4, 105mm 2.5)
c 4300 (too much, lets not go there, was good in its day!)
    G5 ... £110
20d i think some of you may cry if i tell you this, bought it from manager of a company who over ordered some and it had sat un used for 9 months, took it off his uneducated hands for 250.... thats 250
Lx1 ... £270 (its black too! sexxxxy... love this camera)
