Starting to get an HCPC sorted out and just looking for advice on the cables I need:

    1) HCPC to projector (Panny AE100)

    2) HCPC S/PDIF to digital i/p on amp (Sony 930)

Does the 1st cable need to have gold plated connectors, shielded wiring, etc. ? I've also seen some (my current monitor cables have them) ferrite cores? Anything else?

I found the thread here about the 2nd cable so that gives me the 3.5mm to RCA convertor but what about a cable to go the rest of the way to the amp itself? Does it need to be 75ohm or something? Shielded? Anything else?

Any recommended places to get them from and what are others using?

Had a further look (searched the 'net and the forums here ;) ) and the Lindy cables look like the recommended ones - I'm looking at around 5m in length.

What sort of distances can the o/p from the S/PDIF of on SB Live card travel? (I think it'll be in the region of 10m.)
