    Now thatsa real budget.
I personally would say Eltax Jupiter to anyone wanting a budget set of speakers. It's the 1st set I had and I still use them as Stereo set B to run with my Millenium 500's.
I picked them up from my local Curry's for 99.99 and they seem to have a spell of going back up to 199.99 then back down.
See if your Currys have any in, as I can't seem to be able to find them on the net...

Thanks for that ... keep the opinions coming please ...

BTW the speakers need to be all small and wallmounted to keep the Mrs happy ...

How would the budget speakers that I have mentioned compare with what I would get with say a Sony DVS550 or other equivalent All-in-one dvd/av system - better or about the same ?

Cos if what I can get as seperates are just cr*p, then I may opt for all-in-one.

    Thanks

    Malcolm

I'm thinking of a similar set up m8. The Yam speakers seem like an excellent deal for the price.

I know the sub is 50 Watts any idea what the sats are?

For the Yam speakers both Satellites and Centre are 100W/30W max/nominal

    More info at http://www.yamaha-audio.co.uk/pdfs/specsheets/NSP100.pdf

They seem widely available but I cannot find any reviews anywhere or opinions from anyone who has them. Let me know if you find any.

    Thanks,

    Coolboy

Man,that is a tight budget! But heres a system that will blow all the others uve mentioned into weeds:2 Pairs of Mission m71i's in black at £49.99 per pair at richersounds and mission m7c1 for £50 at richers too_On a later date add a nice little budget subwoofer-paradigm PDR8's can be had for £90 and at that price u cant really complain!Nice lil sub tho.The m71i's can be placed on wall brackets btw or if funds are really thight get sum wall brackets from B&Q for £1.25 each....So there u go,a decent little speaker package at £150:clap:

What about if your budget was £200?

Also that system only has three speakers and a sub?

Noticed my mistake just before you posted...oops... :D

Well, seeing as I have no amp, the mission option is going to prove costly, especially with no sub too. :/

    S/H?

Got any particular amp in mind? Also how long are the M71 range going to be around? I'd hate to get a pair and then a few months down the line find out they have been discontinued.

    S/H second hand
Mission M71 will probably be discontinued soon (almost all RS stock is thats why it is so cheap)
dont worry about speakers getting outdated, there are no huge technological changes due.
Sony 495 or yam 340 amp yam is superb for the money!!!
have a search for amps under £200 etc and see what pops up

Mission M71's look like the business .... but I'm going for the Yam DSP100's as they are smaller and more discreet to hang on the walls. I've been barred from hanging my old JPWs which look similar in size to the M71s.:nono:

Also Advocate "also pio 301 amp is small in looks (also sound)"
    - hate to think I was buying a weakling - what do you base that on ? Any better suggestions for sub £200 ?

    Darthmahon link on first POST!
Cool boy based on demos, paper specs and being an AV salesman!!!
I think the yamaha 340/5630 £160 at petertyson, Sony 495 595 585 amd 695 from superfi also a whole bucn of others pioneers connections are also very limited on the pio scarts for simplicity but not real AV.

The mission speakers sound like a good idea :) I'm planning on putting the money into the amp for now and sort the speakers out properly at a later date.

Amp wise I am probably going with either the Onkyo 701 or Denon 3803 - Any preference anyone, the only thing that bothers me about the Onkyo is the lack of inputs 5, compared to the 7 on the denon.

Will the Mission Speakers be OK with these amps?

What are the M73's like? and whats all this "i" business, there always seems to be a version with the i?

Is it worth concidering M73 fronts, M71 rear and M7CI centre? Would it be worth the extra £££'s having 73 front instead of 71's?

What are the M7ds Bi poler speakers like? how do they compare?

Would it be ok to use a M7CI as a centre rear 6th channel?

So many questions!!! :)... its hard work getting into this home cinema lark :)
