Which brand of 2x dvd-rw should i use to play video on a pioneer dv454 standalone?

I got some datasafe 2x dvd-rw last week, but my pioneer dvd-454 doesn't like them at all and won't play any files that are burned to them.

For normal burning i use ritek g04 based discs and they work wonderfully, but i need to make some recordings every so often and then wipe them as they will no longer be required, so i'm looking for a rock solid dvd-rw that i can burn at 2x on my pioneer a05.

Any recommendations?

Many thanks in advance

PS i am 100% sure that the burning methods, disc construction etc. are spot on, i can guarantee that this is a media problem

spudgun,

I use TDK scratchproof 2x -RW discs, recorded on my pioneer 220s recorder.
These finalised discs play perfectly on my Pioneer DV454 player.

I would have to say I haven't recorded on these discs on the PC.
