I have just bought myself an Epson projector and a Videologic DTS surround system.

I now need an AV receiver to bung my cables into and generally tidy things up.

Ideally I would like one with DTS compatibility, and also the smaller the footprint the better as it will be going on a shelf.

I have had a look around and can't believe the prices of some of these things

Ideally a second hand one would probbaly suit my budget better, so if anyone is readnig this and has one to sell then please feel free to email me at steve@lonyderi.co.uk

Alternatively ... can anyone suggest a make/model thats not going to break the bank, as I really don't know where to start.

    Thanks :)

More if I could get the wife round to my way of thinking, but anything up to £150 I guess. I realise (now) this is way off the mark for anything half decent, so yes maybe the classifieds or ex-demo is my best bet :(

Sorry I should have stated that in my original post !

    I currently have :

    a projector
    a dvd player
    an audio system

The problem I have is that if I want sound when I watch a movie then I plug the leads from the theatre system into the dvd player, but if I want to listen to music then I have to plug the leads into my hi-fi.

I am presuming that an AV Receiver will allow me to plug both the dvd player and the hi-fi into it (and obviously the speaker set-up), and then I just select which output I want. That way I don't need to be changing leads around all the time.

I don't have Sky in there yet, but I do plan to get it fitted in the not too distant future, so again that would probably mean more cable swapping.

    Hope I've covered everything there.

Oh and thanks for the quick reponses by the way :)

ha ha ! I've only had this surround sound system a week !!! Theres no way thats going.

That Yamaha receiver seemed to have more inputs than you could shake a stick at though :)

Now if only someone had one going cheap on EBay ....... :)

Thanks a lot for your help :)

there are ither options: http://www.qed.co.uk/acc/ts20.html for audio and similar stuff for video..... But i think you might have made a slightly misinformed purchase of the Digitheatre...............
