Which amp for 3d

Ok, been a while since I've been in the amp section, not really my area of knowledge" but found the info and insight invaluable when purchasing by old Sony 820 amp (2 years old).

I have a quick question. After buying a 3d tv I've discovered after a bit of head scratching and a quick google that my amp does not handle 3d signals!

I'm again therefore look at these two amps


Yamaha rxv371. Or Sony strdh 820

Is one better than the other - especially in terms of connectivity etc

I will be connecting the following :-

Ps3
Apple tv
Sky hd
Kef speakers
Optima 720


( I also use a cheap split to take the signal from my ps3 to the tv and projector - I'm guessing I will need a new splitter that handles 1.4 signal)

The Sony 820 is a level above the Yamaha so should have better sound quality. It is also the current equivalent model to your current receiver so should mean you maintain your current sound quality.
You could try your current splitter to see if it works before buying another one. Is it an active matrix system? or passive splitter?

thanks for that, think it is going to be the new 820. been happy with the last one so why not
