I'm looking at purchasing a large 4K TV around 78"/79" and I'm looking for some advice. My viewing distance is around 16ft but the room is 24ft x 23ft, the 55" I have at the moment seems abit too small for the room. The TV will be on a stand not wall mounted. My main/only priority is picture quality, I watch films & general TV (no gaming etc). I would also prefer if possible a TV with decent 4K upscalling technology. At the moment I'm looking at either a new 2014 model LG79UB9800 (£4495) or a 2015 model Samsung 78JU7500 (£5495). If I'm honest I would prefer a curved screen as I think it will fit and look better in the lounge although not a deal breaker if a flat screen will provide better picture quality. Are there better options out there with a budget of £4500-£5500? Picture quality as mentioned is by far the most important factor. I have a 2010 model Yamaha AMP & Monitor Audio surround speakers for sound when watching movies. Maybe the amp also would need replacing?? Thanks for any advice!
