I want some 602 S3 speakers for my apartment. The room they will be going in will be large and has hardwood floors and plaster walls.

Living in an apartment I obviously can't turn them up too loud, but I can't decide whether the 602 or the 602.5 will be better for me.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

    Thanks.

Your room is big enough, the 602.5 looks better, will sound better in the size room and you dont have to worry about stands.

I disagree. The 602 should perform better in the larger room. The 602.5 is the real weak link in the range, IMHO - you'd be better off with 601s.

I would be more concerned about the room acoustics. It appears there may be lots of nasty early reflections.

For what it is worth, I prefer the 602's. I don't like the flabby bass on the entry level floorstander.
