I recently purchased a Phillips 58PUS8505 from Argos, I’ve had an exchange due to washed out/greyed out image quality, which was especially bad for HDR content. The replacement was just as bad and there is a whole thread here about the issues.

I redeemed some work reward vouchers and spent them in Argos, so when returning this second set, I will have to buy on in Argos, which severely limits me on what models I can afford or possibly get.

My needs/viewing habits are:
•YouTube
•Some PS5 (not a heavy gamer)
•Netflix/Amazon Prime/iPlayer
•Voice search on smart platform (“search YouTube foretc)
•55” - 60”
•£700 Max (must be in Argos)
•Out the box good image, nothing with severe issues, I want to plug and play
•Wall mounted in a corner, sitting facing tv but off centre to it slightly
•In a bedroom so only really watched in the evenings or with curtains shut

Ideally would have as many of the following (but none are deal breakers):
•120hz
•HDMI 2.1
•Android TV
•4x HDMI
•AirPlay

Devices plugged into it:
•PS5
•Xbox One S
•4K Firestick

I’ve been looking at the following models:
•LG 55Nano86
•Hisense 55U7QFTUK
•Sony 55” KD55XH8196BU

Or anything else anyone could suggest? What’s the best of these options? After the hassle with the Phillips set, I’m hoping it will be a good picture straight out the box.

Thanks

For HDR you need to consider the Hisense U8Q as a minimum. No cheaper TV can display HDR without looking washed out, which is why you had to return the Philips.
