hi, I’ve been tasked with finding my folks a new tv. Max 40 (37 To 40) inches. They don’t have internet at home so no point in it been overly smart and no point in it been 4K either as they have no access to 4K content

Key points would be reasonably simple interface and simple remote
Tiny bezel or it would have to be a smaller tv
Good quality picture without any ghosting (watches a lot of motorsport)
And reasonable sound (nothing too tinny)

I’ve so far come up with SONY KDL-40RE453

Anyone have any other recommendations. Budget max £500

    Thanks

One of the Samsung or Sony TVs, one of which you have already looked at is about as good as you'll get at that size.

Things like better than average motion will not be something you can find on any 40" TV now, be it a FHD or UHD model.

Sound, well that is something no TV is going to be good at nowadays, the push to thin TVs has meant lacklustre sound quality is pretty standard right now, you best use a Soundbar if you want good sound. You can get ones that should automatically turn on and off with the TV.

I think the Samsung remotes are more straightforward than the Sony ones.
