I am looking at getting a new tv as my last one broke and i was able to get a refund from comet.
I can't go any larger that a 37 incher, and was looking at maybe getting a plasma or lcd. First question is, are there any HD compatible 37" tv's out there or will there be one soon. I don't want to spend too much as the refund was only about 1500 and dont want to go much higher than that.
I was looking at the Panasonic Viera TH37PE50 or something like that.

As i already had a nice set up with my last tv i am rather set on what connections i need as i have a dvd hard drive recorder, a pace twin freeview box, a vcr, xbox and ps2 to fit into the connections. On my last tv i had three scarts and a component in, and fitted them all in nicely.

    Any suggestions?

I personaly think the 37" viera would do you a treat for
your connections. But it is not HD ready.

I still went for the Viera and am more than happy.
Will consider the HD content when it's out and running
and people are happy with it.

    The decision is yours.

    Hear hear.

Had my Viera for a few weeks. Passed the 200 hours mark the other day and depite not really understanding the DVE disc, managed to get an even better picture (to my untrained eyes). I think it's a wonderful piece of kit.

Wander over to the LCD forum and check out the HD ready 37" screens. It will be 1366x768, be HD ready and cround your budget. LCd's are the way forward!

The forthcoming Panasonic 37PV500 is a hi-def plasma, HD-ready, and should be just £200-£300 outside your budget.

The 37PE50 will be just fine for SD sources IMHO though, and touts better brightness spec, but doesn't look as good in the flesh as the Panasonic photoshoots and the PV500's are designed to be more stylish as well.

Either would be a good choice PQ wise.

The LCDs aren't up to scratch in my opinion, but we all have different ideas.

Edit: I know you said 37" is your limit, but price difference isn't big (£100 difference between 37" and 42" on the Panasonic online pricelist...) if that was your limiting factor
