    hi

ive been looking for a new HDTV mainly to be used for
    x360/ps3/pc gaming(eventually)/standard sky and dvd's
i haven't ruled out a 40" but because of the room size
a 32" tv would probably be more suitable.

as for my budget i have around £1600 which is enough
to buy any 32" tv on the market today and i want the best
the tvs im thinking about are the philips 32pf9731d
    and the panasonic tx32lxd600

the philips 32pf9731d is the most expensive 32" lcd
on the market today and according to what hi-fi
is worth every penny saying its the best 32" lcd
they have seen with the panasonic a close second
however all of there tests only involved sky-hd and dvd's
absolutely no gaming so i have no idea which screen
produces the best PQ with HD gaming.

if anyone has seen any HD gaming footage on either one
of these lcd's could you possibly let me know which screen
    produces the best PQ.

    thankyou

I would look at the Sony KDL-32S2500 (if you can find it yet) and the KDL-32V2500 if you want the Wide Colour Gamut backlight, or alternatively, perhaps the Toshiba models. The Sonys aren't perfect (no TV is) and have a slight video processing quirk (which a lot of people won't notice), but the Samsung/Sony LCD facility makes the best panels that I've seen as of yet.

I wouldn't buy a Philips LCD because you can't adjust the backlight brightness, only the pixel brightness, and I think you need both adjustments fo ra pleasing picture.

    Hi

Do you think there is anything particularly wrong with the Panasonic - is it free of any kind of edge sharpening/halo bugs which would make it decent for SD/PS2/GC?

    Thanks
