With all the talk about HD output, it might seem a bit old fashioned to want a TV that gives a reasonable picture from standard sources/ freeview, for the time being. I gues it should be HD ready though, since more and more output will use HD, and more should become available. However, until then we will use it mainly for viewing from freeview and DVDs. I am quite cynical about the quality of SD picture available - I was watching the snooker set up on a number of screens in John Lewis, and the quality was universally worse than our current CRT! Please can someone guide me through the minefield of new LCD models. Thanks.
