Hi,

I have decided to upgrade to a bigger LCD and these 4 TV's seem to be the best in my price range. Anyone got any advice of which is best for HD gaming and HD movies via the 360 HD-DVD.

Cheers.

Choice is:

DabsValue 32" at Dabs.com
Hannspree XV 32"
Mirai DTL-632V200
AOC N32W551T

I realise there have been lots of posts on this already but my mind hasn't been decided as yet!

My budget is about £350. Which I think I can get all these sets for around that much. I realise there is other threads on this topic but they seemed to veer off topic pretty fast. Just wanted to get some quick advice from people that have, or have tried these sets.

My current set suffers from pretty bad ghostin, has anyone had problems with these sets and ghosting?

Hannspree XV 32" -

I just took this set back (the JT) for a refund.

If you wanna use it for games (XBOX / PS2/3 whatever), outputting from a stand-alone DVD player, or watching telly - its fine. Its great, in fact.

If you wanna use it for outputting from your PC, then forget it. You get tearing and 'judders' when viewing videos / dvds.

Having said that, PC Games were also very good.

Cheers for the reply. I won't be using it for PC, but I will be using VGA to upscale DVD's via the 360. So I guess the Hanspree is out then? Anyone got the Mirai?

Hey I started a thread over here http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=510357 as I was in the exact situation as you with those 4 TVs, I was previously going for the dabs one, but I changed my mind and started looking at the Hannspree, I think the Mirai seems to come out top with specs, but I didn't really like the look of it.

I just ordered the Hannspree XV JT yesterday from https://www.directtvs.co.uk for £359.97 inc free delivery. As the previous post said, it isn't suppose to be great with PC video over VGA, but via hdmi it should be fine, I'm not sure about 360 over VGA. You could always connect your 360 via component which is what I'm doing. If I recieve it tomorrow I'll tell you how it is with the 360, but its suppose to be a pretty good set! Looks really nice too http://www.avforums.com/forums/showpost.php?p=4365341&postcount=55. I've been told the Hannspree doesn't have any ghosting.

Cool. Let me know what you think. I do use component for 360, but change to VGA when watching SD DVD's because component doesn't upscale SD DVD's. Hopefully the Elite will upscale via HDMI save me changing leads all the time.

The Hannspree does look very nice though. Nobody seems to have the Mirai for a comparison of the picture between the two.

Sure, I haven't got a component cable yet, I'm thinking of ordering one off ebay because I don't fancy shedding £20 on one, so if my TV comes soon I'll have to connect it with VGA for a few days (which I currently use to connect to my tft), so I'll let you know if I encounter any tearing/juttering or anything, I'm hoping its ok or I'm sending it back lol

Just wondering if anyone has pictures of the Dabs Digimate 32" hooked up with a 360 so I can compare with the Marai and Hannspree.
