    Hi guys,

This is my first post so please be gentle :)

I am looking to spend about £400-£450 on a 28" widescreen tv, as far as i can see empire direct have the best prices.

Problem is i dont have a clue which will get me the most tv for my money - picture quality is the most important as i will use seperate speakers. I also really want 100hz and a nice flat screen

There are several options that i know of:

    Toshiba 28ZH46
    Jvc AV28X4S
    L.G. RE32FZ30RQ
    Panasonic TX28PM11C

As i can't find any reviews for any of these on the net, i don't have a clue which is the best, hoping u guys will come to the rescue :smashin:

    Your knowledge is very appreciated

    Stephen G

What Hi-Fi S&V raves about the Panasonic 28 inchers. I am a fan of panasonic build quality and think there kit always looks very tidy IMO.

    Welcome to the forum! :hiya:

    Cheers,

    Mark.

The JVC does have very good specs for the money. Is the PQ good?

    Thanks for your help guys,

I agree that the JVC looks promising, just not sure about one issue,

To quote a guy called Cerat who posted on these forums,

"According to the manual on the JVC site, the 28 inch X4 doesn't have geomagnetic correction control. So, going on the comments on this forum, along with my recent experience with 28-inch R25s and R4s, the question is, do you mind watching a display (esp. DVDs) that has picture tilt (anywhere in the region of 5-10mm)? Sorry to bang on about this, but you might be grateful that I did!"

Don't know if this is bad, but i will use it a lot for dvds

I was looking at the new toshiba especially after finding a positive review of another 28" model, but i'm not sure - Anyways, please continue this flow of information people

Just noticed, the Philips 28PW8719 also looks like another promising option....

All i know is that the JVC28X4 blew me away in terms of PQ out of the box, Tilt correction can be useful, but we are talking about a £400 28 TV here, I personally love the specs, its not got the biggest cabinet stand looks reasonable and i have only ever noticed Tilt on test patterns, never normal viewing,
