I'm going to be buying a 28" widescreen tv soon and have a budget of around £350. I've found a Thompson 28WH403S http://www.comet.co.uk/comet/html/cache/453_149462.html which has a flat screen and 100hz. Or would I be better off getting a 50hz TV as there's quite a few to choose from.

Gosh, 100Hz widescreen for £350 - almost sound too good to be true! I'd definitely check out the picture quality in person if I were you since the other 28" Thomson which is rated on the Comet website only gets an 'E' for picture quality.

I posted a similar thread a few days ago. I went hunting for a TV yesterday and I have settled on the Panasonic TX28PS1.
Empire has that set for £370.

Out of all the sets I saw yesterday, and there were loads, no matter which shop I viewed the TV in the picture always seemed really sharp.

OT: Why don't more manufacturers give their TV's proper names? Loewe have the right idea there.
