Which 240v to 12v transformer should I use?

Hi all

I have recently installed Nest smart thermostat and it is currently powered by USB plugged to an AC adapter with following specs:

- 7w
- Output: 5v 1.4A

From what I have read, Nest can be powered with 12v wiring going from a heat link. I am looking to wire a 240v transformer inside the wall but not sure which one to go for. Would an LED driver such as one below be suitable?

UK LOCAL LED Supply Transformer 6W-50W Driver for LED LEDS 240V - DC 12V

Many thanks

Beware of cheap transformers. A cheap transformer is more likely to break and kill whatever it is feeding. I'm not saying that will happen with the one you posted but it may be worth looking for a good quality one on rs-components or element 14. For the sake of a few extra quid it may save your nest.
