Just picked up the mag and the Philips doesn't win......
come on then, give us the lowdown...
The contenders goes as follows....
surley it should be the LE32A41BX???
Joint 2nd - Philips and Sony with 4 stars.
For - Excellent image clarity and definition; sublimedepth of field and realism; authoritative, full-bodied sound (Cough).
Against - Very expensive, but that's about it.
For - Elegant styling; detailed and visually dynamic with DVD and off-air pictures.
Against - A digital video input would be nice, with accompanying pictue benefits.
First place - Toshiba with 5 stars.
For - Brilliant picture definition and depth of field; extensive range of inputs; far from excessive price.
Against - Very little considering what it costs.
Now, didn't WHF review the Tosh about 2 months ago and said the HDMI input was snowy and grainy ?!
would still like to have seen the LE32A41BX up against the tosh and the philips as IMO these are the best 3 available (excluding increasingly rare sharps)
and possibly the philips should have been the 9976 model as the 9986 is really in a different price bracket
Just remember this is WHF, they change their minds all the time depending what mood they're in
Shame that the Sharp GA series completely passed them by, I think for the price, that would have beaten the Toshiba. Look like the Philips is still the daddy.
Isn't the 41BX also cheaper than the A33W ?
I have back to back tested my mates Tosh against my Sharp on the same sources, both of us agree the Sharp is significantly better on component and DVI.
The Tosh on DVI is grainy and has a textured feal to it, and component was difficult to seperate from RGB.
Plus the Sharp PQ and sound can be configured for each I/P something Tosh can't do.
WHF was critical of the Sharp and full of praise for the Tosh ! Why ?
