Looking for some new Hi-Fi, where's the best place to go? Several different options, independant or bigger chains ?? A bit confused and living in Suffolk it appears not many options.

Superfi Online - UK's best supplier of hifi equipment
    HIFIX Maintenance
    Peter Tyson Online
Richer Sounds - The UK's Hi-Fi, Home Cinema & Flat Panel Tv Specialists!
Weymouth Hi-Fi - vast selection of Audio and Video
Hifi Gear ~HiFi and Home Cinema separates
Home Entertainment Audio Visual Systems - Quantum Electronics (UK) Limited
    HiFi Confidential Ltd.
    HiFi Audio Home Cinema
    Buy from Digital Direct
HiFiBitZ - No.1 for Hi-fi, Home Cinema, Speakers, and more

People in these forums have done business with all these companies.

SuperFi, HiFix, PeterTyson, HiFiGear, Richer Sounds are all very popular with good selection and good prices.

Supposedly many of the places are 'Assured Buyers' as determined by this forum, meaning they are trusted sources, but I've never been able to actually find the forums list of 'Assured Buyers'. If there is one, can any one point me toward it? (Or maybe it is Assured Seller, whatever.)

I don't know about Ipswich or Suffolk, but Richer Sounds has many High Street Stores spread around the UK. Check out their website to see if there is one near you.

In my opinion there is no better retailer in the land than Richer Sounds

I have been a customer for over 25 years and never had any regrets

They now what they are talking about selling at good prices plus if you

require exstended garrantees these are the best.

I can't help but think that this is rather dependant upon the funds available. Richers are good for starter and the lower part of mid range gear, but really don't stock high end kit.

Thanks for the info, I prefer to find the smaller independants, in my experience with other issues they tend to offer a far better service, some of the larger suppliers don't want to know once they have your cash. I'll keep looking.

Signals in Ipswich are very good.

And TomTom audio on the ouskirts are brilliant if you're thinking of Naim stuff.

I think Richer Sounds are great if you know what you want and want a demo! But my experience is that the sales people I have spoken to dont have a clue about what they are talking about. I have been a customer of theirs for over 20 years and can say i am pleased with the products I have bought and the manner in which I have been dealt with.

However, IMHO dont go in asking for advice as they dont know what they are talking about in some case and they tend to push manufacturers they own:- Gale & Camridge audio etc.

Bartlett's hifi in Islington. They sell good kit, are happy to give demos with no pressure to buy, and seem to know what they're talking about.
