Morning,

I’m wanting to buy a nice set of thick, black curtains to go in my new games room.

I’ve had a quick look in the usual places but thought I’d ask here first if anyone has any recommendations as some look nice but then they’re really thin and just look cheap and I’d also like to try and ‘deaden’ the room slightly with them too!

Ideally a velvet like texture but I’ll most likely have to go with faux velvet (or whatever they call it) as I don’t want to go crazy as I’ll most likely be the only person to use the room!

Many thanks

What about getting nice curtains with black out lining, better than faux velvet imo.

Have a look at Dunelm | Bedding, Curtains, Blinds, Furniture & More

There's quite a decent selection of curtains on there.

Alternatively, have a search for acoustic curtains on the web and Ebay (although they tend to be quite pricey).

I'd stick with blackout curtains/blinds personally and tackle any acoustics with proper panels.

Full length wall to wall curtains look great.
If you’re anywhere near London, the curtain factory outlet is superb. Used to be on Ballards Lane, but might have moved recently.

Thanks all will have another look :)
