firstly sorry mods if this is in the wrong part of the forum
my harman kardon dvd player has gone awol :suicide: it wont display a picture through the (yuv) component the sound works fine but no picture i got up one day and thats how it was i checked the leads to the av amp then to the plasma but it still wont work
ive put another dvd on to the same inputs to amp etc and that works fine so it has to be the dvd player
i need a repairer that can test the component out etc & is it worth the expense etc
thanks in advance & anyone around the west yorks area (leeds) if poss as the postage would be a killer

Do you have any output from scart or composite? If so, is there a menu option to enable/disable component output that may have reverted back to disabled? May also be worth checking the manual for a default/factory reset.

These are only suggestions as I don't know HK players.

According to p16 of the manual, pressing "stop" on the remote for 3+ seconds should revert from progressive to interlaced. If that doesn't help the only other thing I can suggest is disconnecting the player from the mains overnight & hope that resets it.

I'll check with technical tomorrow, but as far as I remember, pressing clear whilst turning the unit on should do a full reset. If that doesn't work, ring the Harman office on 02087314670, and ask either Mark or Trevor.

    Regards,

    Graham
