richersounds have the pronto listed at £150, apparently they only supply the 2mb version (tho it doesnt say that on their website, doesnt mention which model at all !)

It does mention that it is the 2mb version. If you do a search on their website for pronto. Then click go to info/order. It says 2mb version at the very top above other info. The price is £145.95 + £3 excluding docking station.

    Hope this helps.

what exactly does the docking station do? is it important or can you do without it easily enough?

    its "just" a recharging station.
a pronto is perfectly useable without it - pc comms is done totally seperate from the station.
having said "just" ... i'm eating a set of nimh 1300mah batteries every 2-3 weeks which is much (MUCH) less than many other users are reporting (but then i have my doubts about my pronto as i never get a low battery warning!) so i'm considering getting one, theres loss of functionality of the remote if you choose not to though.

I ordered a 2mb Pronto from Richer Sounds on Tuesday night without the docking station. I will let you know when I get it. (£145.95 + £3 delivery).

I will see how I go without one for now. If I need a docking station, I will get it later. I think Techtronics do it for £40?

Thanks to everyone for your replies.

Looks like RicherSounds is the cheapest source, but only if you buy on-line.

I, too, have just ordered the version without the docking station. I was tempted by the new colour version, very sexy indeed. But she's a little too expensive for me.

Let's see how it goes. Should be a relief to be able to control all the components from one handset. I fear I am entering the final stages of couch-potato-ism.

Received my Pronto this morning, might have to have a "sickie" so I can go home and play with it!!

I expect I shall be visiting this forum a lot over the next few weeks to see what other people have done with theirs.

    Good delivery from Richer Sounds.
