These are like rocking horse 'stuff'. Panasonic have apparently got a back order and have had for weeks/months.

Anyone know who has them in stock at the moment. I've called loads of places and they say - "to order sir....oh sorry panasonic have no stock..."

I've just ordered my PW7 for delivery on Thursday and can't connect it up

so this is why my PW7 delivery has been delayed..........
I was meant to be taking delivery today but got a phone call this morning saying that they didnt have th component board in stock so they cancelled my delivery!
bloody guy in the shop told me they would have some in this wednesday 'all being well'.....but it seems unlikely now, specially if you are having probs locating one.

might cancel my order then if they are going to muck me about over delivery times!!
    Dammit.......

Out of interest, where did you order from. Was it going to come with a component card free or did you purchase it seperately?

I have been told by my local a/v supplier that HDMI boards will not be available for the PW7 until January 2005. They phoned Panasonic to query the availablity of several components in one of my quotes.

Sorry if this is not what you wanted to hear, but I thought I should share what I have been told.

Have you tried ordering the BNC boards? or even the dual slots or VGA boards? they can accept component and the VGA boards are cheaper IIRC................

I don't know if this question is aimed at me or the original poster, but I am intending to connect to the VGA port carrying a componet signal from an a/v receiver. If I end up getting an HDMI equipped DVD player then I'll add an HDMI port at a later date and connect the DVD player directly to that.

AV-Sales had the bnc component board in last week. You then just need a bnc-rca component cable. You can get the QED one for about £55 from Superfi.

I wanted to steer clear on further convertors but it might be that I have to go that way.

Ideally I would like the component/composite/svideo card (double size I think) but nobody apart from av-sales have heard of them and I don't have a part number. Av-Sales won't sell it to me because I haven't purchased a plasma from them :nono: .

Where else can I get these multi-cards and what is the part number?

    A5606,
I got it thrown in with the deal I struck....2 input boards for £75....
but it looks like I wont get it for a while if what you say is true.. I will ring them tomorrow and find out for definite about delivery.
Its a local home cinema shop to near to where I live (Bradford).
I will be a bit cheesed if they knew they wouldnt have the boards in for a while.

    Good point.
Don't forget chaps that all of the terminal boards other than the HDMI boards are the same as the ones used in the PW6 which came with a SCART board as standard so you should be able to find a dealer with one of those kicking around as half of the PW6's would have been sold for use with a tuner, which would have made the SCART board redundant.
Might be worth ringing Roy Pollards in Birmingham/Solihull as they should have some old stock left.

not all of them did and i am pretty sure it wasnt standard there are lots of places you should be able to get boards, but generally the staff are too dumb/inane/untrained etc to open the panasonic ordering page a click order (adding the %) for you............ Use a dealer who knows what he is doing and it is all good.

    Quick Question!
Has anyone added an input terminal board at a later date?
Are they easy to fit, like plug and play?
Or are they a dealer/engineer job?
Would this then be at extra cost if added later?
    Thanks
    Dave

They are very easy to fit.

It is just a case of removing a blanking plate which is held in by four screws, slotting the board in, and putting the screws back in.

The screen will automatically detect the board.

The only thing to be careful of is that slot 1 (iirc) cannot take all of the boards. The instructions that come with the boards should tell you if they are for slots 2 or 3 only.

I've got listed here that for the PW6 Slots 1 & 2 will take the SCART, Tuner, S/video Composite & Component boards, but Slot 3 will only take Component (makes no mention of the DVI board though).
Apart from HDMI, does this differ from the PW7?
