I have googled and searched but i want to buy just a seat without all the frames , fixings ect.

I am going to order a DOF reality p3 sim and make my own , but they want to know in advance a type of seat so they can supply the correct fittings.

All i seem to find is complete sim set ups with a seat.
There must be a site to go to where there are seats only.

Any reason you are going for the DoF Reality?
They look a bit untidy and flimsy to me.
A much better and cheaper unit is the SFX100

I just bought my seat from eBay for £100.

Looks Good !
For a dof 3 it would cost £1600 delivered to self assemble cheapskate !
How much is that one , i can`t find a website for prices.
Do they have a price for a self build kit with all the parts needed..

Mine cost a little more, but not much.
Its a DIY kit, that you buy the pieces for and assemble yourself, so you have to know how to use a spanner.
Sounds daunting but really isn't.
The pieces cost around £1500, but you put them on your own rig (mine cost £300).

To buy these at this quality off the shelf will be closer to £5,000.

Here are a few links with more info...

Not sure how you work out £1600 for the DoF P3. Its $2709 delivered, which is £1698.
BUT you WILL have to pay import duty/tax at around 20%, which will bring it up to £2038.
That will work out more money for a more inferior rig than the SFX100.

If you are close to me (Middlesbrough) you are welcome to come and have a luck and I will even help you with your build.

Yes, it was a dof H3 i was looking at £1600 delivered.
I would rather have one like you have there but i found a web site for it but it seems to involve 3D printing parts and having to locate parts from all over.
I`m good with spanners (auto job) but i just wish there was a (kit) where all that was needed was in the box ready to crack on with the instructions.
That`s why i like the dof 3.
I live down in the S/W uk, shame really.
I got the bug and itching to spend now !
Need;
PC
Rig
49"curve monitor,,,,,, i tried a Vive pro and found it too pixely.
seat
fanatec sport pack

I printed my own out and it was easier than I thought.
I just bought a Creality Ender 2 for £95 and learnt as I went along.

Having said that, there is a guy who is printing them for FREE. All you need to do is buy the PLA and pay for shipping.
Will save LOTS of time and some money too.

Although its good to make your own as its part of the fun and you can make some spare in the future if you should have any issues.

You still have to locate the parts, but just taken them one at a time and they soon come through.

As I said, it looks daunting, but it really isn't.

Here is my build...

What about a real car seat (Sparco, Recaro etc) from somewhere like Demon Tweaks?

That's where I bought my seat and side mount from when I built a sim rig about five years ago:-
Racing Seats & Accessories | Demon Tweeks UK

I recently decided to get back into sim racing and this time I bought a vintage style bucket seat from "Bad Boy Classics". It's shoulder height so won't interfere with a VR headset.
