    Hi,

I have just made the plunge and decided to buy a DMRE20. I have made a few recordings to DVD-R which have come out very well with each disk playing on all my other DVD players (a Tosh 210, a PC with WinDVD, a laptop with PowerDVD and a Sony standalone).

However I have been playing around with the DVD-RAM side of things which seems so much better given the greatly enhanced editing features. Therefore I have decided to archive my collection to DVD-RAM - I was just wondering if anyone has any recommedations on where to buy DVD-RAMs?

Congratulations Rasczak I think you have chosen well with the E20. Superb machine and format.

Panasonic E-shop sell the DVD-RAM discs £25 for the double sided version £17 for the single side.

Also a little cheaper at this web site and you can pay by cheque if you prefer.

I have shopped at both of them and delivery is within a few days.

    Also..........

I have not tried them yet so I can't really comment.

If you can afford I would archive to DVD-R too as no one knows yet which format will survive and which will bite the dust.

    Have fun. Enjoy. malcom

    Thanks for the links!

I am archiving my edited VHS masters to DVD-R (although using the one hour format I'm ending up with lots of DVD-Rs kicking around the place!).

I am am using DVD-RAM to archive unedited recordings so I can erase the advert breaks etc. I appreciate DVD-RAM may well not be the future direction for DVD recording but I can always transfer them later. Once the format war is over I will buy a DVD recorder and just transfer the DVD-RAM recordings for the DMRE20 to the new machine.

    Hi Rasczak

Have you found a cheap supply of DVD-R discs yet! That are reliable on the E20.

I tried some from http://www.121cdr.co.uk/ labelled as datasafe which did not work in my E20. I was later told by the supplier they were Princo discs which had worked in E20s tested by them.

At the moment I am using Verbatin discs which are fine but somewhat expensive. Regards. Malcom.
