I need to get a CC40 filter for my Sony VW12 before I get it ISF calibrated. Can anyone tell me where I could order one, preferably online? Also, what's the difference between this filter and the one that comes with the unit?

    Many thanks!

Do a search for cc40 and HS10 - lots of stuff already posted about it, iirc

Thanks, I've read those threads which is what prompted me to get the filter. I just need to find a good supplier!

I have only managed to find reference to sony machines having facility for screw on lenses..... my sanyo has no such facility...... is there any way, beyond diy job, of getting a filter holder on there?

ok...... i was never in that position! :D That is one of the diy options mentioned..... i can easily make a modded copy of the lens protector to do it, i just wondered if there was an accepted way of doing this when no fittings were available.

Just one more question, could Sony VW10/11/12 owners please tell me the size of the filter I need to get? I know it's 67mm for the HS10 but this seems too small. Thanks.

    Godfather,

Just measure the diameter of the threaded part at the front of the lens on your Sony VW12 its as simple as that.

seeing as srb are closed, i cant ask them, but maybe someone here could help. The srb resin filters are what im looking at. Now my Z2 lens is 67 mm, that much is ok. But it is not threaded as i said. However.... maybe it would just push on.... but this will depend on how wide the actualy aluminium threaded bit is.... does anyone know?

the outer of the lens is 67mm, the maximum metal mounting diameter i can handle (before it would get in the way of iris and focus) is 71 mm..... can someone confim or deny that the srb resin at 67mm has a metal screw which is between 67 and 71 mm?

    thanks

The outer "ring" is pretty thin. I'd imagine you'll be OK if you've got 3/4mm to "play with".
