Just went into Comets in Purley Way and they would not price match Gultronics :thumbsdow
They said Gultronics had none in stock and would only price match if the reatiler had them for immediate despatch.
Now I'm really hacked off and won't buy from Comet's ever again.

Can anyone recommend other retailers/web sites that they have had a good experience with. I see Gultronics price is now down to 1472 ! Has anyone bought from them?
    thx

I admit its hard to find them in the shops, not 1 of the comets around here has one in, and they will only price match the big stores and not online places and not anywhere further than 10 miles. Are there any smaller specialist shops around you could try?

Most online places have it for about 1600 with delivery, ive managed to get my local specialist shop to take their sticker price of 1999 down to 1700 with a 2 year warranty included + delivery and installation. Just try and find somewher else and haggle. I personally wouldnt buy something like a expensive television set online as i have shocking luck with things going wrong and so im prepared to pay a little extra for peace of mind.

Just had a look at Toshiba's on-line store but it states the 46WM48 is "retail only"

Hi mattty - I expected to pay about £300 for five years. I'm not sure any of them really cover the bulb however as I'd expect it to be a consumable.

Welsh_uk - thanks for the site info - i'd not seen these guys before. What have you done about an extended warranty?

Thanks mattty - their price is slightly higher at £1545 + £50 delivery but their warranty options seem very reasonable:

    3 Year Warranty +£124.00
    5 Year Warranty +£219.00

So the overall price may be cheaper...

    Cheers

    Hi Guys

I've ordered the Toshiba 46WM48 from Sound & Vision for £1545 incl. delivery and a Panasonic s97 (Multi-region for £185). I was very tempted by RGB but the delivery cost of £50 put me off - my negotiating skills are crap mattty! Their warranty was tempting however - £124 for 3 years (that's 1 + 2).

I didn't get a great feeling speaking to Gultronics over the phone and then they tried to charge me £90 for delivery as their site is completely wrong!

So I went back to Sound & Vision who I have used before and their service was excellent. I asked them if they'd price match Gultronics list price (ex. delivery) but they wouldn't as they said Gultronics were using grey imports. Now they may have been spinning me a line but you never know.

I also got a quote from the Warranty Exchange for £163 for 3 years - which factoring in my saving on delivery would make it cheaper than RGB. So that's the way i'm going to go.

    Thanks everyone for your help.

    Cheers
    KableMan
