Best i have seen is at Digital Direct (in Bolton, M/cr), they are on the net. Have seen it for £2608 plus postage. Seems about the best at the mo.

please do not buy on price alone dealer support and back up is very important on a ~£3k purchase. Check retailers policy and feedback before ordering.

Good Advice, I bought locally for 3000, with delivery and two year warranty included, the item was in stock and I was offered a free stand and component cabling (hand made).

Nothing can beat the personal touch.

I'm totally confident that if I have any problems with the unit my dealer will sort it immediately. the slight difference in price (£150 max all considered) is small price for peace of mind.

I would be carefult with digital direct. My parents ordered a 32" CRT from them, they claimed it was in stock and took the money off their switch card. It turned out that thay had no stock, my parents had a difficult time getting their card credited with the cash.

I think you missed the £69.99 delivery charge that will total £2677.99!

    Always check the small print!

Well. I am a whisker away from signing up for a Pioneer 435 XDE complete with wall-mounted installation service (cables recessed into the walls, plastered and hidden) and Denon 2105 amp and Denon 2910 DVD player.
From a local high-street *independant* retailer, Rayleigh Hi Fi (not DIXONS)

They have given me personal demonstrations of the XDE via a HD source via the HDMI input.

From what I've heard, their aftersales service is as good as their pre-sales service.

Just need to dot the i's and cross the t's. (and change the speakers of their original recommended package)

I will pay a little more than an internet site who will simply send you a cardboard box with your Pioneer inside. However, I believe that I am getting a much better service.

You get what you pay for.

    Right on!

What are your opinions of the XDE?

I have had a play with the FDE version before i decided on the XDE and purchased from a local trusted independent retailer (not dixons, NEVER again)!
