What was you dissapointed of on the Philips 9945 ? I have just bought one and are actually quite happy about it. Paid approx. 1920 £ for it in Norway so I thought it was a lot of screen to that price. Only thing I am not 100% satisfied with is the banding issue, but every plasma I have seen has this issue to adress.....

    Please respond....

where do you want me to start
the solorization (or polorization) whatever you call it lasts too long on the philips or it did on mine ive viewed 6 or 7 screens in the past week and the philips was the worst picture close up bearing in mind my chair is about 8 to 9 feet away from screen i found it very slow to catch up with moving objects etc and overall it wasn't very good imho

Peter Dyers in Ilkley (LS29) are a panasonic dealer and they used to have one in their showroom, if it's a long way from where you live you might want to phone ahead first to make sure they still do. Don't buy there though, unless you get a good price, they wanted £4500 for a 42pa20 a few months ago when everyone else was banging them out at £2800.

Seven Oaks or Richer Sounds might have one in - haven't looked recently so would be worth giving them a call first.

OK, i sit approx. 5 meters away from my screen so I don't think it is so bad. Maybe if I saw a panny beside it, it would look different :smashin:

    Thanks for reply.....

There's a panasonic dealer in Brighouse (Audiovision - as pointed out) they normally have all sorts on display - including very very good CRT's. Also Huddersfield HI FI in Halifax(?) have panny's and pio's - i've never seen plasma's at Huddersfield HI FI in Huddersfield. Both very very pricey.

I can guarantee you 100% that the official panasonic store in Bradford has one on show - cos thats where I bought mine.

If you quote them the price on av-sales.com they will match it including stand and all the goodies!!!

just called them they are an independent who only sell panasonic
spoke to the girl who tells me she has 5 years experience with plasma(has it been out that long)
asked about price match she says the screens cost more than av sales do the package for and advised me to buy off them at (wait for it)............
£4 grand with home entertainment centre.................mmmm av sales £2.2k delivered in 72 hrs or so or £4k take away today
quote from girl in shop 'its a grey import your buying sir panasonic dont cover any warranty on these screens'
me 'no its a uk model and i know someone has had one and got the service people out under warranty (total bluff)
sales girl 'thats imposible sir we cant buy the screens direct from pansonic for that'
me 'oh ok then ill have to watch that then can i call in today and fit my dvd player into the back of it to test the picture'
girl 'sorry sir i dont think that is allowed'
    me 'ok then bye'
it states on av web site 12 months warranty i have no worries where it came from but it just goes to show the profit high street shops are making
no reply from bradford so will call in tommorow :smoke:

they may be called panasonic but they are independent retailers who stock only panasonic but if they want to i gather they can pricematch it will depend on the retailer i suppose
ive called the bradford shop 5 times with no answer or answer phone message so will have to wait till tommorow

You could simply go to your nearest Tesco Extra. They use the PWD6 as the ad screens in the main ailse or at least they do in Fforestfach store in Swansea.

Yeah i agree some shops seem to charge over the odds, but then some offer very high levels of service and support. That £1000 profit quickly disappears when you take into account

    Delivery charges from distributors
The loss of money by holding stock
    Depreciation of existing demo stock
Shop overheads (very costly in towns)
    2/3 support calls
Possible costs from undertaking dead pixel checks.

If you bear all of this in mind, you can seen that av sales are offering a cracking bargain. I only wish I had the brass for a plasma…alas I have just blown my couple of grand on some speakers :D

God I sound like a retailer!!!
