I want to buy a new set in the next week and after reading these friendly forums I think I have decided on one of the following two packages:

    http://www.progressive-av.com/flat_screens/panasonic_th-42pwd7.htm

    or

    http://www.av-sales.com/plasma/html/panasonic_th-42pw7b_plasma.html
    and Panny scht1500

Where can I view these screens before I buy them? I can't find them stocked in any stores I went to.

    FYI, inputs will be:
    1. Freeview or Sky Digital Box
    2. DVD player
    3. A games console in the future

Do I need ay extra plus like that JC converter you guys always talk about?

Thanks, I'm new at all this.

Train... there may be somewhere else to demo in london but it is a bit harsh going for a demo when you know there is a 99% chance you are just wasting their time......

Thanks for that, Horny, it's why I wasn't volunteering! Even though I'm 150m from a station...

I agree with you both. I'll just see if there is one on display on Tottenham crt road.

MAW, without offending, if your prices are similar let me know and I'll come and see you. I see from your website you seem to do high end work.

I just want to see if the picture quality is acceptable on this Panny. Last time I looked (about a year ago) the image was too pixelated on Plasma screens.

Give me a ring if you like, I think your PQ issues are likely due to pants connection/low grade sources. You don't have to spend a fortune, but it's no good using a Mico DVD from Sainsburys on composite and then blaming the screen if I may say that without offence in return? You might easily have a few issues with that media box, no wonder AV sales are paying folks to take them away!!
