Apparently there is a generally shortage. Something to do with the Duet doing better than expected.

I think its a supply thing from Slim Devices, i.e. more of there resources have been taken up with the Duet and so the manufacture of the SB3 is behind and has a backlog.

If you don't mind paying the full retail price of £179,then PC World should have the SB3 in stock off the shelf.

Got lucky with my SB3, PC World priced matched the DABs price of £149 but to qualify for their price promise the item needs to be in stock on their competitors web site.

I believe that PC World also will price match Amazon UK, when i checked last on Amazon the SB3 was around the £185 mark and the Duet was selling for approx £250.

Edit - The Duet is now gone back up to £279 on Amazon.

Just a quick heads-up to say they are back in stock at Dabs. They came in yesterday, that's when mine was shipped and it arrived today. I've been waiting since the 11th...

Time to head off home, plug it in and try it out. Neighbours beware.

Wow, its a brilliant little thing! Just got it going and been listening to music.

Just a couple of questions, on the screen should there be a flickering line on the most extreme parts of the screen? is this normal? Also when its off (standby) is it safe to leave it showing the date/time, it wont burn into the screen?

It could be down to the display settings - have a play with the 'Now Playing Information' settings in Squeezecentre. I personally use Small Spectrum & Remaining Time.

Yep, perfectly safe - no need to worry about screen burn.

    Welcome to Squeezebox ownership

I can see that (just) in a darkened room & from about 6 inches. Not in normal use though.
