I see there is a manufacturer specific forum for SVS and Velodyne and REL.

Should ALL and ANY questions on these manufacturers be put into their specific forum or do we post a 'subwoofer' question here and the moderator moves it to the correct forum.

There must be consistency if this is to be adopted !!

My worry is that the absence of SVS threads on the main subwoofer forum will mean that nobody new here will ever hear of SVS. I owe my purchase of my SVS to this very forum and its members. I was originally considering REL and MJ at much higher prices than in the UK. A true 15Hz extension and 110dB capability were mine for less than the cost of either box at UK prices. Despite having to pay air-freight, import taxes and 25% VAT on everything.

I agree with you 100%, being in the same position. A specific forum might be fine for problem sharing, fault finding etc., but we don't have any do we? :D

I think it will be better if we have it all under the same "Subwoofer" Forum it would be alot easier to discuss issues.

    I hear your concerns.
However, the manufacturer-specific forums for Arcam, Tag and Sim2 have proved a success.
With this in mind I wanted to see how separate forums for these manufacturers would fair.
By leaving the sticky at the top of the subs forum, I hope people will realise the separate forums exist.
This forum remains the main subwoofer forum and mods will not be moving threads. It's up to posters to choose which forum they prefer their thread to go.
The new forums are designed as 'clubs' if you like for like-minded owners to gather. And maybe for interested parties to see what's going on.

On reflection it makes most sense to have these forums under the subs forum.

    Way to go Spectre.

It really nice to see that the people running forums like these actually do read and take notice of what we say. :D

I did try it the 'old' way and it was cumbersome. Now so much easier :smashin:

And No im not trying to outdo Nimby with the smileys on this post. He is the master smiley user/abuser :rotfl:

Agreed. The new format is an excellent approach to the case for seperate fora. The previous free-for-all must have been a bit boring at times for non SVS devotees. There is usually a sense of loyalty attached to ownership of kit. Not that I could be accused of that. The new forum should at least catch the inevitable deluge of PB10 posts coming up. Perhaps lurking SVS owners will feel less intimidated in a smaller group and will start posting their thoughts and enquiries. :)

    Regards
    Nimby
