Where do things connect nowadays

So, I'm by no means an amateur when it comes to electronics (its what I do for a living) - but for an AVR, what's best practice.

I've got a Denon X3600, a Samsung Q85 TV and I've got an Xbox One and Roku Stick+ connected up.

Now, should I connect everything to the one-connect box on the TV - and then use ARC to feed the AVR; or should I connect everything to the AVR and feed the one connect with a single HDMI cable?

As the TV doesn't have eARC I'd connect everything to the Denon and single HDMI to the One Connect box.

Is this because of the lack of lossless audio support via ARC?

For such a pricey TV, you'd think it would include it!
