Where do I position the front speakers?

Hi all,

I have (soon) a 55" LCD set in the middle of a 20' wall. Do I want the front speakers either side of the TV (adjacent to it) or in the corners? This is basically going to inform my decision to get floor standers (Q Acoustics 1030i) or bookshelf speakers (Q Acoustics 1010i) mounted on brackets.

The room is approx. 20' square and the sofa is right back against the opposite wall.

I thank you all in advance!

Ideally they should be 3ft either side of the TV with the tweeters at ear level pointing towards your seating position. It's never a good idea placing floorstanders in corners or close to walls anyway, although mine are pretty close to both due to the size of my room and furniture.
