I have a Marantz 4400 amp, and I was reading the book and they said to place the surround speakers on the sides in line with seating position, and place the rear speaker at the back. However I only have a 5.1 setup, so no rear speaker.

Therefore do I still put the speakers on the side, or at the back?

I have a pair of Mission rear speakers, the ones which can be fitted to the wall.

    Cheers

The Mission bipole speakers can be either on the back or side walls in a 5.1 setup. I used to have mine on the side walls but it depends on room layout and convenience

I thought mission only made Dipole rear speakers?

From my experience, they're best placed on side walls around 60cm above your listening position, any higher and I found they sounded too 'vague' and I had bad reflection problems.

Mission don't make dipole speakers at all. Their surrounds are bipolar but are confusingly labelled ds. I don't know what that stands for but it isn't "dipole surround"
