Where do beliefs come from?......It is often a mistake to think we have reasons for what we believe. Beliefs and hopes are not always anchored in reason but can come from within and is different to reason. So says Nobel prize winner prof. Kahneman Horizon: How You Really Make Decisions... An interesting program. The program doesn't discuss it but I wonder what the implications are for science and faith based reasoning. .......Decisions are often logically wrong due to our inbuilt biases in thinking. The program shows that even Rhesus monkeys have the same loss aversion bias.... which indicates that some bias errors were built into us 35 million years ago.
