Title kind of speaks for itself a bit.

I was in Maplin's and they had the build your own for £5 or a digital one for £40 or something. Is there a happy medium? ( I have difficulty wiring up my amp never mind a circuit board) Say a tenner for something prebuilt and where can I get one?

    Cheers

If you shop around, you may still be able to get the realistic analouge one for £25.

i brought mine about 2 months ago (cannot remember where from), so i'm sure that some places will still have it.

I think realistic (radio shack) are going to discontinue it soon (it may be discontinued now), so get in quick, if you can find it.....it seems to be the perfered one to have, altough i have never used the digital one.

I got mine, a digital SPL, from Maplins and payed £50. This is about the right price for a digital unit.
£25 for an analogue unit is about as cheap as you are likely to find.
£10 these days gets you jack.......
