Hi all. Like many others on here I have been waiting until after Christmas so that I can buy a DVD Recorder "in the sales" - has anyone found any bargains so far? I am looking at a Panny E50 or E60 and a PC DVD writer and haven't seen any blazing bargains so far....

I think you will find the problem is that most places don`t have stock as Panasonic are quoting end of Jan for them !

the sales are really for big chain stores

if their prices get close to the online retailers then you are doing well

Lewis' still price match as long as the online retailer actually has a store, many do

    JUST GO FOR IT!
You may wait for ages and be without your desired piece of kit.
I was going to wait for HS2 prices to drop but in the end thought "what the hell", and I paid £650 from a local Panasonic dealer. I know some of you are going to say that's too much, but after having a nightmare buying a TV mail order I'd rather pay the premium for superb customer service, which is what I get from this dealer.
Plus, I was able to bring a shiny brand new UK model home with me that day.:D :D :D
Didn't bother going MR as I have other MR DVD players, although I'm struggling to see the benefits of MR these days. Anyone want to buy some R1 DVD's?!

I am lucky to live close to a big discounter- Sound and Vision in Bolton, every price is rock bottom and I have had fantastic service on some faulty kit.
I have the good fortune of the E tailer prices yet a door to go knocking on if needed.
    Check out these guys.

Well, erm, thanks for all the advice!!

Regarding sound and vision in bolton, I was very pleased with their service regarding a Panasonic PTAE-100 projector - excellent price, delivered straight away. After it broke (almost straight away) they picked straight back up and replaced, so no complaints there.... :smashin:

Regarding the sales, my assumption had previously been that there were cheap prices all year round on the internet, but there were so many people on here banging on about the "sales" I thought I must be wrong.... anyway, no point in delaying any further... that credit card had better get ready for a good beating!
