I was just wondering if anyone knew when dual layer DVD recorders for the home and not the PC are going to be released (if they haven't already) as I will gladly trade in my VCR when one of these comes out.

Sony, LG and Panasonic all have models planned for later this year:
    - the LG models are LYR-516, LYR-517 and LYH-518 (HDD/DVDR combi)
    - the Sony models are RDR-HX715 (HDD/DVDR combi) and RDR-VX515 (VHS/DVDR combi)
    - the Panasonic model will be their E500 replacement (due November) - model number as of yet unannounced

Thanks for that. It looks like I'm going to wait until at least summer for the one I'm after, the Sony RDR-GX315, then I'll finally be able to junk my VCR :) .
