A DVD Recorder with

80 gig HD atleast
DVD+RW and -RW
Dolby Digital 5.1
PS Component output

when oh when

120GB, DVD+R/+RW, DD 5.1, PS Component Out (playback of DVD-R/-RW)

Taiwan, Spring 2004 - Claire DV-R7H :)

(Made by Sampo...)

agh no minus recording.

sorry clayts u can peddle that sampo cack all u want but until I see a review from one of the big boys I wont even consider those cheapshyte models.

Pioneer's 5100 would be perfect if it had ps component outs

I prefer -r over +r

Nothing wrong with Sampo I have one, and after 3 years it i is still one of the best players around.

if space isn't an issue why not get a cheap multiregion as your main player with component outs

I have the Tosh XS30 but use my modded multi Panny S35 as my main player. Very often your dvdr will be tied up recording and having another dvd player comes in very handy

Why do you need such a big hard drive if necessary you can burn to RAM and anything you want to keep put on -R. Anything you want on the HD for easy access can be recorded at a low bit rate.
